LOL, it never dawned on me that it looks like this was taken as I flew overhead! The truth is sad and boring, we were driving along on one of those winding French roads, glanced down into the valley below and spotted this, my LSH said "Oh look, there's a lone tree", so we parked the car, I leapt out and took the photo. Voilá!
nice shot, i was wondering how you managed to take that pic, then i read ur efforts. A humple suggestion is that it would'v been excellent if we could include the shadow of the tree in full (may b from a diff' angle)
Thanks Henry, but unfortunately a different angle would have involved a bit of rock climbing. I totally agree, it would have been better with the full shadow in it, but there was a hideous bright green shed in line with the wood piles which I cropped out, removing some of the tree's shadow too.
You only need one, when you capture such an awesome shot! Looks like a fairytail, are you sure that isn't a unicorn?! Well done, absolutely love this shot!!
I love comments - I may not reply to them all, but I surely read them all!
Apologies for introducing Comment Moderation, but I've been getting some strange hits recently and I want to reserve the right to control what gets posted here.
Very lonely looking, even with the horse.
ReplyDeleteI like the distance!
ReplyDeleteCool shot, did you climb one tree to get the other? Or starting a hot air baloon trip?? :-))

You got up really high to get that shot - NICE! Like the horse but wonder if the tree is scared it will end up in those wood piles! LOL
ReplyDeleteI like the perspective and of course the lone white horse. Did you make a wish?
ReplyDeleteYou can make a wish when you see a lone white horse??? Damn, all those wasted wishing opportunities!
DeleteLike this photo! The horse gives size/distance perspective. Would be interesting to see this same tree in the spring/summer.
ReplyDeleteWell done...doesn't get any better than that.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great shot. You would never see the scale without the horse, which makes the shot. Well done!
ReplyDeleteVery nice. So peaceful.
